MBA were responsible for the Structural and Civil Engineering design of the building and the associated roads and buried drainage.

The building achieved a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating and MBA were involved throughout the review processes required to achieve this. We were able to achieve additional credits as well as significant cost savings, by investigating the re-use of excavated material from the site for areas of fill beneath car parking and the building ground floor.

MBA also designed a SUDS scheme for the surface water disposal which also incorporated a rainwater harvesting system. Liaison with the Client to meet their particular requirements for the building as well as with the various specialist contractors produced an effective and economic construction.
